Dear American homebuilders of the 1950’s and 60’s-

I would like one of you to explain to me (slowly) the allure of wood paneling.

For the life of me, I have been unable to come up with a single redeeming quality of the horrendous wall covering.

Was it the nasty brown color?  The dark and lifeless gloom it cast upon a room?

Did you think- In 50 years I want no one to buy this house?

What?  What was the reason?

Your silence speaks volumes.  And your paneling hurts my soul.

We are done here.
