Hindsight is an evil, horrid bitch.

Honestly- she is.

Think of that one friend you had in high school who sat idly by as you did/attempted something.  And then when it didn’t work out she would say, “I totally knew that wouldn’t work.”  Thanks for nothing whore.

That is hindsight.

Is it too much to ask for a little head’s up now and again?  You know- maybe a little niggle of doubt before you let your mom try out the home perm on you.  Maybe a twinge of pain before you, a known klutz, strap on the snow skis and proceed to hurtle yourself down a mountain of snow and ice.

Today I sit wishing there had been some sort “heads up” before the husband and I decided to go bike riding.  Maybe a little whisper that said, “look, you haven’t been on a bike for more than 5 minutes in ten years, perhaps 9 miles your first day isn’t a good idea.”

Is that too much to ask?

Apparently it is.  Because as I type, I am unable to sit.  No, honestly, I am unable to sit.

My ass hurts so badly it isn’t even funny.  Okay, it is a little funny.  Well once I get past the agonizing pain it is a little chuckle worthy.

But even with all the pain it was fun.  I was slightly concerned that I was wishing my legs would just fall off before we even made it to the actualy loop.  We persevered though and nine miles is now behind us.

Maybe next time I’ll start with something a little shorter.

And invest in a new seat.

About Amanda Broyles

Amanda is amazing. Amanda is spectacular. Amanda is humble. Amanda is also a full time college student so take pity on her and don't complain when her TV reviews aren't up immediately following an episode.
