I can not be alone here.

Seriously I can’t be the only person that has sung this song to themselves this entire season of Top Chef.

I really really do not like this song.  I mean I guess it’s alright every once in awhile but blech.  So freaking boring- almost as boring as this season of Top Chef.

The only person I liked was Carla and she bit the big one in the finale.  Oh well.

Next year will be better… it has to be.

Oh my- this was one of the “related videos” after Hosea.  If this doesn’t make you want to rip out your eardrums then nothing will.  It could only be made worse by Cary Landry singing it himself.

THE SEARCH IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the reward is sweet indeed.

I considered buying multiple boxes but I thought that would just be insane.  So I only bought four.

They are so berry berry tasty (yea I can’t believe I did it either).

Dear neighbors;

I am completely understanding of the pitfalls of apartment living.  I often have no problem with it.  We live on the second floor so it is understood that we will occasionally have to listen to things both above and below us.

The kid downstairs likes to play rock band while the kids above us play their stereo (do they even have stereos any more?  Am I showing how old I am?) really loud when their parents aren’t home.  Usually this isn’t a problem because a.) I like music and therefore it doesn’t really bother me all that much and b.) it has never happened that both sets of kids are playing at the same time.

Until today.

The kids upstairs are listening to something with a very predominant bass line.  Predominant and very, very loud.  If I had things on my walls, they would have already fallen off.

The kid downstairs has added singing to his Rock Band arsenal.  This is not a good thing.  I’ve wracked my brain trying to think of a way to convey to him that he really needs to stay in school and get a job… far from the performing arts.

This has been going on for about three hours now (why aren’t you hoarse yet?  why aren’t your eardrums bleeding?) and I’m almost to the “old lady go and bang on the ceiling” stage.  I don’t want to be that lady.  Please don’t make me be that lady.

Oh and chick downstairs whose child is currently torturing the entire hearing population in the five mile radius- next time you bang on the ceiling because my dogs happen to run and play for 30 seconds you bet your sweet ass I’m going to be at your door giving you a piece of my mind.

Thank god we are buying a house.

On the road again…

Growing up this Willie Nelson classic was one of my favorites.  Quite the foreshadowing if I do say so myself.

That being said- it’s been a year soooooo…….. We are moving again!

This is into new territory though.  We are actually moving back to a place we’ve lived before.

Back to southern Georgia.  Yippee.  Normally I wouldn’t be too overly thrilled with the prospect but this time around we’ve got some close friends that have moved there so it will be nice to be able to hang with them.   Plus the husband already knows his coworkers (and is friends with some of them) so it should be interesting.

We’ve already gone up once looking for a house and are heading up again this weekend.

It is rather appalling what condition some people will allow their house to be shown in.  And I am far from a tidy person.  These houses are downright nasty.  Just nasty.  One didn’t even have a floor in the master bath shower!  Disturbing.

I know our house is just waiting for us to find it- wish us luck!

I am on an epic quest

to find my favorite cereal.  I have searched high and low to no avail.  Everytime I go to the grocery store (and this is no exaggeration) I check and see if there is that familiar purple box.  But there never is.  And this makes me sad.

I google and it tells me that I should be able to find the tasty morsels at Target.  So every time I go into Target I look.  And am just disappointed again.

Why General Mills?  Why?

If I was at all inclined to pointless acts of defiance (okay, even I laughed at that one- I have been known to at one point or another participate in pointless acts of defiance.  Not eating the cat killers food comes to mind pretty quickly) I would stage a hunger strike until Berry Berry Kix was back available in the stores.

Instead I will just try the Honey Kix and try to remember the happier days.

This is why I could never work in advertising-

because the first time someone told me to relate furniture to current events I would look at them with an expression that fully conveyed how asinine I thought the idea to be.

But apparently there are people who are able to make just such a leap.

I was looking at beds (we got a new one about 7-8 months ago but I still look for my own amusement) and came across this gem:

Inaguration Celebration
Embrace Change.
A modern administration deserves modern design.
Visit our dc showroom or lignerosetdc.com.
Mention the inauguration for promotional pricing.
Because we can all use a little change…

Apparently I missed the memo that said with each new President I am supposed to redo my decor.

(note:  the word decor is used very, very loosely here seeing as what the House O’ Bunny rocks is it’s own special brand of decor- ask my mom, she’ll tell you all about the couch we don’t have!)

WHY? OH GOD WHY?

I just recieved some tragic news.  Really cut me down.

Apparently Barack Obama is trying to push off the “digital revolution”.

I guess there haven’t been enough coupons or something.

Have I missed something major here?  Hasn’t this been going on for years?  Hasn’t everyone known when it was supposed to happen?  ISN’T THIS ABOUT TELEVISION?

Apparently making sure everyone is able to watch Grey’s Anatomy is a matter of life and death here.

You know, I wished people would give up their resolutions

But I’ve recently realized that I don’t.

Because if I do then that makes me no better than every gym rat who looks on an overweight person and figures that in three weeks they’ll be sitting on the couch eating donuts.

So I take back my earlier post.

Excercise on you resolutioners.  I can wait for the rowing machine.

I think I’m losing my mind.

No really, I think I am.

Most recently discovered oddity is how I will at random times have an entire plot line from a Nancy Drew novel jump into my brain.  This evening it was the one where Nancy gets a message from the farmer about some pictures on some paper he found maybe?  And someone gets kidnapped.  Okay, maybe not entire plot lines,  but the general idea for sure.

Don’t get me started on Boxcar Children, or the Mandie series (the one with the mine, loved it), or the ultimate book Choose Your Own Adventure.

Thinking of these books make me really miss the little mini library in the Bethel housing out in Virginia.  I loved that place.

:sigh:

Good times.

That will be me

Hanging out with all the other newly joined gym members.

I’ve been trying to figure out a time where there are a little less people so I don’t have to wait for the rowing machine but so far it hasn’t been that easy.

Is it wrong that I hope some of those people give up on their new year’s resolutions?

It is wrong, but I still hope it.

Then maybe I could go swimming without feeling like I’m in a school of fish.  Last time I was standing there and the lunch crowd started getting out- I swearI saw the water line go down at least a foot.  That’s a lot of displacement!

That was bloody and painful.

And that’s about all I can say about it.

Yet another Ute for me to hate.

Dear BCS Committee;

Or whatever you call yourselves.  Whoever decides who should play each other in bowl games…

This is not a complaint about who you chose to match up with Alabama.  Well not directly.  While it would have been a much more entertaining and interesting game had you matched the Tide with Texas (another SEC/Big 12 matchup would have been nothing but gold) there really is no use crying over spilled milk.

Instead you decided that the best Sugar Bowl matchup would be Alabama and Utah.  On paper, sure it seems like a good idea, I guess.

But I have to ask.  Is there not a single woman on your committee?  Not one?  Are none of the men married?  Does no one at all see the disgusting, albeit humourous, matchup here?

It is the Crimson Tide vs. the Utes.

In case you missed that:

The Crimson Tide

vs.

The Utes

I can only assume that no woman was involved in this decision.  None, whatsoever.

Oh my.  I’ll be watching, and trying not to laugh each time the team name are mentioned.

*Thanks to Poeia for the lovely image*

Thank you Borders

They sent me a coupon for something like 30% off any CD.  After much deliberation I decided upon Newton Faulkner’s Hand Built By Robots.

It is amazing.  He has such a pure voice and amazing skills on the guitar.

I’ve already listened to it once through and am starting on number 2.

Been down and out

For the last couple of days/week.  I’ve been battling not only the ever present abcessed tooth (I did finally go to the dentist and have an appointment for the 16th to get it fixed, finally) but also another ear infection and it has put me on my ass.

So I’ve had plenty of sleep and time to fart around on youtube.

I found a performance of one of my favorite songs.  It is perhaps the best song of the year.  If Guy Garvey were walking down the street I’d have to restrain myself from kidnapping him.

It is rather funny that this performance was at the Glastonbury Festival- I’ve wanted to go for years and have been trying to convince the husband that he wants to go.  No luck.

Someday though, someday it will happen.

Anyways, back to the song.  If this doesn’t make you feel good and happy and all that, then there is no hope for you.

RISTLTMB- Redux

This is fun.  Not an internet search but a direct click.  For the life of me I can not figure out why.

Maybe you will know.

Only thing I can figure is maybe someone clicked on the blog roll thing and it connected to me.  I do know that this is not the first time I’ve gotten this RICTLTMB (Random Internet Click that Led to My Blog).

Strange.

However- this is not strange, just awesome.

Not awesome that Pogo is down (I went to play some dominos, not any more) but awesome that their sorry message is a sad cactus.  Awwww, sad cactus.  I will dry your tears.

Godless heathens

I know that is what they were thinking.

Apparently there is a theft problem in my community.  So the sherrif’s department has put up those portable electric signs telling people to lock their cars and not leave valueables out.

The best part about it is the screen that reads “Thou Shall Not Steal.  But Some Still Do.”

Awesome.  Just awesome.

I’m in love.

It is a good thing I am a happily married woman because if I wasn’t I would totally be stalking this guy.

Who are these people?

So my love for Bonnie Hunt is nothing new.  I love her, I love her show, I’m currently trying to win the coffee maker on today’s “give and get”, all of it.  As I was looking at her “give and get” store on ebay I thought, oh what the hell I’ll check out her “Bonnie’s Basement” store as well.

There is some really cool stuff on there.  I particularly like the two hats from Kathryn Joosten.  She was one of my favorite characters on The West Wing and the episode(s) of her death and funeral are some of my favorites.  Not because she died, but because they are just so good.  Anyways… the hats are going for about $200 right now which I thought was a good price for a celebrity item.  Some obviously have more bid on them like the Tony Hawk skateboard or the Florence Henderson Brady Bunch collectibles.

I was not prepared in the least bit for what I saw when I scrolled down a little further.

Actually I’ll let you go check it out for yourself.  CLICK ME FOR LUDICROUSNESS!

Why?  Why?  WHY?!?!?!?!?!

Now granted it is going to a good cause,  but seriously.  What on earth do you need that for?  And why would you spend that much on it?  I was just floored when I saw that.  Floored I tell you.

And it still has quite a bit of time left on it.  God only knows how high it will get.

You better believe I’ll be waiting with bated breath.

Fabulousness

This stuff is so freaking good it should be a crime.  Throw in a little cool whip and it’s almost like eating a pumpkin pie.

So, so, so good.

That was disappointing.

At least the Tide played really well.  Minus a few iffy calls it was a good game (intentional grounding anyone?).

Now on to next year.  Oh well I guess a meaningless bowl game first and then on to next year.

At least NAVY beat the ugly ass pants off of Army.  That was a sight to behold.

I’m off to cry a tear in my beer.
