It’s like a punch to the ol’ ute
So today on botb (one of my many time wasters) there was a post link to a list we had compiled back last July about the “rules of botb”. A very funny day for sure.
However, this post much like most every other post that links to one from awhile ago (when the cool nesties were still on botb- no offense to current nesties) really drives home the fact that we are still trying unsuccessfully. Nothing like seeing an entire post full of infants and toddlers… and then you with nothing but your witty repartee, to really illustrate that point.
It happened a couple of months ago too. That one was from even longer ago. So those babies were even older! And some are now pregnant with #2.
Ugh.
You can take your stats and shove them up your ass.
Well that pretty much sums up how I feel about the situation.
What situation? Well….
I called an RE’s office here in town (I won’t name them because I’m sure outside of my issue they are just fine people) a couple of weeks ago and started the ball rolling with getting in to be seen. I’ve got some spotting issues that need to be looked at and don’t really want to go the “Clomid Wonderdrug” route.
Lady says, okay we’ll get an appt time set up and I will call later to go over a pre-appt form with you. Sounds good. Let’s do it. She calls. We talk. 45 minutes into this conversation she asks me:
Do you have any ethical, or religious objections to any treatments or tests that we provide or run?
I said, yes I do. I have no intention of going beyond drug intervention with monitoring. I don’t object to semen analysis or Clomid or progesterone or any of that. I just do not personally feel comfortable with IUI/IVF and things of the like.
Her response?
Well, I’m sorry. It doesn’t look like you will be able to be seen by this practice.
You could have knocked me over with a feather. I was too stunned to respond so I just hung up on her.
Take that! I give you the dial tone of death as a comeback!

for making iLife ’08 and the process of downloading videos from my camera much, much easier.
I was finally able to take 112 videos and put them on the computer. That’s a lot of random crap!
Anyways- here is Bronco when we went up to see him last. Please notice how he gets out of the water and makes a bee line for me.

Happy half anniversary to me!
I’ve been married for 18 months today. It still doesn’t seem all that real sometimes. I mean I’m past the “taken by surprise when I’m called Mrs. X” stage but every once in awhile, usually when I’m folding his underwear, I get that- holy crap…. I’m married- feeling.
So 18 months. Let’s recap. We got married, honeymooned, got home. Four months later he moved. Six weeks later, I moved. Six months after that we moved across the same town. Five months later, we moved down here. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m tired just reading that! What a whirlwind it has been.
Oh yea, happy mother’s day to all of you out there. I’m planning on spending mine in bed watching movies- seems like the right thing to do.

When people I’ve known for years mispronounce my maiden name. For years they’ve heard it, and for years they’ve said it wrong. Aggravating.

Thanks and Mea Culpa….
So I’m really horrible at checking out the blog stats… but when I do I’m usually pleasantly surprised and sometimes amused (usually the amusement comes from seeing what google searches led people to my site).
Well today I checked and saw that lo and behold Amy from Musings of a High School Teacher, nominated me for an Excellent Blog award. As I’ve said before, I’m always amazed when I see that people actually read this so for someone to think it is excellent is rather mind blowing! Anyways- thank you very much Amy.
The mea culpa comes in when I realize that she posted that almost a month ago and I just now noticed!

Pet peeve of the day…. and something I like
Today’s pet peeve:
When TV shows are at one volume level the entire show except for the intro theme. For example- The Office. Your tv is set to a certain volume and it is quite pleasant… until the opening credits with theme song comes on and it is blaring only to return to the original volume once again.
This really is a nuisance when you are trying to fall asleep while watching the show and you are almost asleep when BAM! Music comes on and you are wide awake in a cold sweat because ten years have officially been taken off of your life.
Today’s thing I like:
Falling asleep (and staying asleep) laughing at a movie or tv show.
Well that is a plus!
So the husband’s company is going with the whole co-employer thing which really means nothing to me except new insurance. I have spent many an hour comparing the over 20 plans that are offered.
Our last insurance didn’t have IF coverage and our insurance now has no IF coverage. So imagine my surprise when I click on IF benefits and I see coverage!!!!!!! I was so excited. Now I’ve just got to find a doctor. I’ve already talked to one office but haven’t scheduled an appointment yet. Probably get to that when we get back from our long weekend at the beach. Still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that we might actually get to move forward! Yea!!!
And with that, I’ve reached my exclamation point quota for one post…. good night!

I am an idiot.
Seriously. I have horrible, horrible teeth. I mean I’ve got a dental hygiene routine that would give a dentist wet dreams and yet I can’t get ahead of the cavities and root canals and extractions.
Right now I’ve got a few problem spots that I really need to have looked at- for awhile now. First was the whole dentist shot herself issue I had to deal with. Then we found out we were moving and we didn’t have insurance for the last month. Then we moved and had to wait for insurance to pick up with the new company.
So we have insurance and all is well. Have I called? Of course not!
Why? Because I never think of it until it is hurting- and when it hurts it hurts like there is no tomorrow. Unfortunately it usually starts hurting long after any dentist office has closed. Morning comes and I forget about it again. I’m writing a note to myself as I type- I’ d bet good money that I forget all about it.
Man… I need to get pregnant, pop out the kid, feed said child and then get back on my medicine because this whole “can’t remember shit” thing I’ve got going… isn’t going at all.

Ah wedding memories…

I’ve just gotten married and am having too much of a good time at the reception.
The band takes a break and I ask if they will play perhaps one of the greatest songs in the history of music- Midnight Train to Georgia. Of course I feel the need to dance and lip sync.
Next thing I know… I’m doing it again this time I’m singing with a microphone and backup dancers.
To this day I can’t go to a function with people that were there that night without hearing about my “Inner Gladys”
Gladys does live inside me- and every once in awhile she needs to come out… unfortunately for M it is often in the grocery store!

So wish I had a camera
Well I did have a camera with me so I guess the correct title would be “So wish I had taken a picture.”
Yesterday I’m driving back from Louisiana and I decided to run up to SW Georgia to see Bronco. He is still in field trial training and now that we’ve moved we don’t get to see him that often. Well the trip from I-10 to Bronco’s home away from home is through the middle of freaking nowhere Georgia.
I’m driving along when I notice something in the road up ahead. As I get closer I realize it is something very large. A little closer and I realize it is a cow. In the middle of the road. A cow. Middle of the road.
I stop (obviously) and get out to take stock of the situation. I realize there is zero possibility of driving around said cow and she is in no hurry to move so I decide that I need to persuade her to move.
I try screaming.
I try jumping.
I try pleading.
I try crying.
I try praying.
I try smacking.
I realize that I have no idea where this cow’s ass has been.
I decided to get a magazine from the car.
Right as I go to smack cow with aforementioned magazine I notice it has a picture of a hamburger on the front.
I completely lose it- I was laughing so hard I could barely breath and tears were streaming down my face.
Cow was not the least bit concerned with the threat of becoming a quarter pounder so I got Ginger from the car. I think she finally moved just so Ginger would shut up.
I got back in the car and went to visit Bronco. He’s doing great but really the highlight of that trip will always be the cow.
Ahhh, that one’s going to remain funny for quite some time.
